The Johannesburg Zoo was established in 1904, and historically, it has been owned and operated by the CITY
OF JOHANNESBURG.

The core business of the Johannesburg Zoo is the accommodation, enrichment, husbandry and medical care of
wild animals.

The Johannesburg Zoo contributes to the quality of life of the citizens of the city through, Education,
Conservation, Research and Recreation.

This site offers a unique tranquil environment in the centre of Johannesburg. The setting offers endless novel
opportunities for the company who has “done it all”.

The JHB Zoo Conference facilities consist of two spectacular conferencing facilities. In addition, there is one
restaurant, namely Cafe Fino, which is situated in close proximity to the chimpanzee enclosure.

There are five outdoor venues that can accommodate from 100 to 5000 people, namely the Cheetah
slopes, Band stand, Tree of light lawn, Centenary lawn and Sasol bird wing. These venues are ideal
for corporate family days, picnics and team building.

The zoo also offers activities such as Zoo tours, Zoo snooze (sleep over at the zoo) or Breakfast with
the keeper.
