Description

CRANFORD INN CLARENS is situated in the beautiful village of Clarens in the Eastern Free State, sandwiched between the Rooiberge and the majestic Maluti Mountains and is an Owner run & operated small hotel.

Situated only 300 km from Gauteng, less than 4 hours drive from Durban and approx 2.5 hours drive from Bloemfontein, the Inn is very centrally situated and is an ideal conference or Team Building venue.

We have up to 36 splendid rooms, all en-suite. Each room has a fridge and a private patio. Full tea & coffee facilities with FRESH milk, TV with 5 channels, heaters, fans, hot water bottles are standard in each room. All rooms have recently been upgraded & refurbished into 3 star rooms. We can sleep up to 85 guests.

Our conference rooms are suitable for either U-shape or Classroom style and can accommodate up to 40 delegates in comfort. The conference rooms are equipped with heaters, fans, Overhead projectors, white boards, Flip Charts, Pin Boards, TV and Video as well as Audio & Data Projector facilities. Additional equipment can be hired if necessary.

A full program can be planned as there are many activities that are within walking distance of the venue. Clarens is home to many artists as well as galleries and fine curio shops. ( See attached Things To Do In Clarens below)

We have access to a number of Team Building venues in the area: from rope & high wire obstacle courses used to prepare the Camel Team participants to down-to-earth Corporate Style team building games courses

We also have a number of hiking trails that can be included in your holiday as well as 4X4 trails, Quad Bike Trails, Horse riding and various sports activities that are nearby.

We have access to the Ash River in the picturesque Eastern Free State Highlands. The river is fed by the Trans Caledon Transfer Tunnel, which brings water from the mighty Katse Dam in Lesotho to South Africa. The water exits the tunnel at around 54 cubic metres per second and then proceeds to flow down the Ash River over some amazing rapids and through fertile valleys as well as large wetlands. The birding opportunities are unique as one can observe the birds from the river as opposed to peering through thick reed beds from the bank. Rafting trips are graded from Family to Adrenaline Rush but we do have a minimum age restriction of 14 years. All equipment, (including helmets & life jackets) is supplied and the operators use 2 man Croc inflatables. All guides are SARA accredited.

We also offer fly fishing for Rainbow & Brown Trout, Abseiling (35m to 90 m!!), clay pigeon and Paint ball shooting. We have a 19 m high-ropes course as well as some of SA’s most beautiful and challenging 4×4 routes in our area. The area lends itself to adventure weekends for family and friends as well as corporate team building conference getaways.

In short we specialise in tailoring a conference to suit your needs , in your time at a price that makes cents!!
